My unfiltered, unapologetic thoughts
What do you need to be happy?
In Brooklyn, we lived in an apartment so small, it didn’t have a sink in the bathroom.
How do you prioritize your work?
“Focus on what matters.” I wrote that on a single yellow post-it in 2016 and stuck it to the bottom of my computer monitor.
How do you trust your intuition and listen to your gut?
I have a strong intuition, but it wasn’t always like this. How did I build trust in my intuition?
How do you get over the fear of your bosses and coworkers reading your blog?
I am overwhelmed by the response that I’ve gotten to my website. I got teary-eyed reading your messages and listening to your voice notes. I keep saying this, but putting it all out there was super scary and part of me is just glad I got it over with.
How do you force yourself to get off of work on time?
I find it so hard to get off on time. Especially on days when I am in back-to-back meetings, it’s so much easier to stay an extra hour or two to get caught up on work. I feel so cheesy saying this, but I also happen to really enjoy what I do, which makes it easy to lose track of time.
Why is it so hard to ask for help?
It’s always been hard for me to ask for help. Failure is too strong a word, but there is a part of me that feels disappointed that I couldn’t handle it on my own. Asking for help feels like I’m complaining about the workload. And in the culture I grew up in, there is a different attitude towards work. You do what is expected of you without complaining or making a fuss.
